Julie Kohner presented Voices of the Generations to the community of Terre Haute, Indiana, at the CANDLES Holocaust Museum on Sunday, September 28, 2026. CANDLES is an acronym for Children of Auschwitz Nazi Deadly Lab Experiments Survivors.

CANDLES was founded in 1984 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization by Eva Mozes Kor, with the help of her twin sister, Miriam Mozes Zieger. Together, they launched an effort to locate other twins who had survived the barbaric medical experiments conducted by Josef Mengele at the Auschwitz concentration camp.

As a result of their efforts, Eva and Miriam were able to locate 122 individual Mengele twins living in ten countries across four continents. The search for additional surviving twins continues to this day.

In addition to members of the local community who attended the presentation, Terre Haute television station WTHI-TV featured an interview with Julie Kohner during its Sunday broadcast.
